Straight Partners Anonymous

Services Offered By Straight Partners Anonymous

A new service for the UK
When SPA was set-up in December 2008 there were no face-to-face support groups and self-help groups for straight partners in the UK - a situation that contrasts rather sharply with the USA.

SPA offers a face-to-face support group with monthly meetings and an online group, both of which are free. Janice also supports people via email; you can contact her here.

SPA members
Each member has a different story to tell, and by telling our stories, we support each other. Some members have personally experienced isolation and fear when their partner came out. Some members may still be living with a partner who is in denial, whilst others may have reached a mutual decision with their partner to keep their relationship intact. Some members have divorced and moved on. The point is, there is no definitive right or wrong way to manage this situation.

Whatever your circumstances or story, feeling isolated compounds your shock and will make the recovery process that much longer and more difficult.  Janice can personally vouch for that! None of the members are 'experts' in the field as such, but we offer support and empathy.
